Camp 4-2-11 is a Cheltenham based, family run camp for children ages 3-14. We open during the Easter & Summer holidays , February & October Half terms, Christmas holidays, and offer a creative alternative to sports-based camps.
We run exciting themed weeks, workshops, and jam-pack the schedule with swimming, arts and craft, drama, music, games, quests, archery, baking and more.
Our numbers are small, our staff are well trained, professional and pride themselves on making sure every child has as much fun as possible and makes friends with other campers.
Being independent we are flexible and while we have a fully structured programme of activity we are child-led and listen to what the group wants to do. Impromptu games of bench ball, rounders or water fights are common, as are quiet time activities after particularly lively swimming sessions.
We welcome all children and are very happy to try and accommodate any special requirements or individual needs.
All our managers have over 2 year’s experience working at camp, are paediatric first aid trained and hold up to date safeguarding training.
85% of our whole staff team are now first aid trained.
Kate took ownership of Camp 4-2-11 in 2010 when she was pregnant with her fifth child, Annie. As a working mum, Kate understands the stresses that parents are faced with. She wanted to create a fun and loving environment for children so parents would feel totally at ease knowing their children were having heaps of fun. She is passionate about the quality of childcare and the training that her team receive.

Both have attended the early years camps (my eldest has moved to the next age range camp) throughout the school holidays each year and have absolutely loved it. The variety of activities offered to the children is exceptional and the employees are always friendly, knowledgeable, caring and attentive to the children. The activities are a great mixture of fun, creativity, exercise and education. I'm always impressed when the children tell me what they have done each day. My children have tried a few local camps of this kind and have found this to be the most fulfilling by far. It has always felt like a treat to them rather than simply a day of childcare. The children feel safe and as a parent I feel that they are individually attended to and cared for. My son became unwell at the camp one day and I felt the care he received during the time it took for me to collect him was above and beyond my expectations.
My son (age 7) has been attending the camp at St Edwards for over 3 years regularly through each school holiday. From the first day he started, both myself and my son have been made to feel welcome and all the staff have been professional and attentive. Every staff member has made the effort to get to know my son's name and I have felt at ease every time I have left him. He looks forward to attending and comes home with lots to tell me and experiences he has kept as a memory for many months to follow. There are always so many activities to choose from he often struggles to choose which day he would like to go! His confidence has grown so much since attending the camp and you can see the efforts of the staff really shine through in the children. The drop off and pickup is safe, secure and easy. Everything is very well organised and I would recommend the camp to anyone looking for holiday childcare from age 3 onwards as this is when my son started to attend.
Camp 4-2-11 has been absolutely brilliant for us and our two daughters. The staff at Camp 4-2-11 have always been really kind and welcoming and our girls (3 and 6) always have a brilliant time. The staff have also been flexible in making adjustments for our older daughter who has special needs and we are really grateful to them for this as it has been so reassuring knowing she is well looked after, and makes life so much easier for school holiday breaks.
As you know, we really value your personalised, individual approach and the fact that you bring back the same capable, warm, friendly core team, again and again. That helps my daughter feel settled and happy, plus I find it enormously reassuring that I can contact “real”, named people and meet you in advance on medical issues. That’s so different from the impersonal, corporate feel around the big national schemes which run so many holiday camps now, and can’t even tell you in advance who will lead the camp. Add to that your super mix of activities - crafts, sports, the arts and my kid is one happy girl, which means I can truly settle down the work I need to get done!
"Was quite apprehensive about leaving my 3 year old at his first holiday camp for the day. I was met with such patience and reassurance from the excellent teaching staff. Even a hug and a phone call to make me (yes, me!) feel better! It took three teachers to convince him to leave with me at the end of the day! Says it all! We will be booking for summer. Excellent facility. Thank you"
"My girls have adored camp this year !!! Knowing I could go to work without stressing has been a god send!! Lucy Thomas is a total star and my girls just love her and all the staff there!! Thank you so much! Cannot recommend enough!!!"
"This is such a fantastic camp!!! My daughter absolutely loves it. She went for a full week over Easter and woke up excited to go every day. She came home with some amazing creations too!!! I would highly recommend it, thanks so much Kate and the team at Camp 4-2-11."
